I had planned to make these following the recipe on Elana’s Pantry, but my local grocers didn’t have any Medjool dates, so instead I opted for sweetened dried cranberries and hazelnuts. When I mixed up the ingredients, it was too dry to combine by hand, so I added an egg, and the mixture turned out perfectly! If you want to keep the recipe vegan, you can dissolve 1 Tablespoon of ground flax seeds into 3 Tablespoons of water for about 3 minutes and then add as you would 1 egg.
What you’ll need…
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1 cup raw hazelnuts
3 Tablespoons cacao powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 egg
Simply put everything into a food processor and blend until completely combined. Roll by hand into golf-balls and serve!
