Incline Leg Lifts

May 11, 2011 by Michelle

This will be the first of several exercises for building up your ab wall…Just remember, you have to treat the abdominal muscles like any other muscle in the body. If you want it to grow, you will have to hit it with a heavy enough weight that you are in the hypertrophic range. That means you should be maxing out at 8 to 12 reps. I do my incline leg raises using a 12 lb medicine ball. Make sure you are really contracting your abdominal wall when you do these, and control the motion. You are trying to isolate the erectors in this exercise, and done right, they are great for those hard to get lower abs!
