Well, today is day 2 of my March program, which means LEGS. Yesterday was a mental and emotional battle, I can’t tell a lie. My belly is swollen from the burns, and every time I eat my gut reacts like a hot-air balloon. To think that Sunday morning I was able to see 4 lower ab veins, and my 6 pack, and now it all seems like so far away, and my Pro show is coming up hard and fast! So, unable to practice Bikram yoga, which I was relying on for my cardio, I am choosing to do two workouts per day and increasing my walking to 60 minutes per day. Thank goodness the sun has come out and spring has decided to come to Montreal!!!
No, I am not entirely bullet-proof. Yesterday I had a break-down and went off my keto-diet, eating a huge bowl of rice with some shaved pork post-workout. Not the end of the world, but now it’s a mental game, and so everything I do to make myself feel weak or unsuccessful is particularly dangerous. Now I have to set myself up for success throughout my day, and so today I woke up resolved to follow my nutrition plan 100%. I don’t usually follow a diet any more, going by instinct, but because I am feeling fragile, I went and put together a program that I can feel confident following for the next few week.
Life will happen, whether you want it to or not. The key to long-term success is the ability to adjust to changes in any given situation, to clearly and continuously assess your mental, emotional and physical state, and to keep moving towards your goals, whether it’s a matter of holding your place, moving forwards by millimeters, or making giant leaps. They all amount to the same thing in the end: Achieving Your Dreams!
On that note, off to the gym for my second leg workout, to train a new, young client, and finish my April programs and diets for my athletes…Carpe Diem!

Very Interesting Post. Thank you for sharing with us! I just started a high rep program for my legs, as my low rep, heavy deads and squats have developed my legs to where I am satisfied and am simply leaning them out…. I noted last night (and several times in the past) my lower abdomen was distended…. is this what you are talking about? (swollen belly?) I eat paleo 90%, don’t eat anything that causes bloating – but last night was wondering if I should cut things out – then I read this!!
Could you elaborate a bit? why one gets a swollen belly?
Your fantastic girl!!!

Hi Sheryl, you might want to switch to drops sets and also SPRINT WORK to lean out the legs…Sweat-your-ass-off bike and rowing sprints are favourites of mine in particular!
As for stomach bloating, wow, that could be from so many things…if you have high fat, you might need some digestive enzyme and probiotic from time-to-time…or eat chicory, artichokes, and broccoli rabe along with all that yummy meat…
